With the introduction of containers in April 1956, shipping containers triggered a revolution in global trade. In today’s highly interdependent global economy, there is growing demand for visibility into the entire sequence—from the individual farmer or producer to the end-user customer who might be half a world away. The large volume of containers, and the speed of handling them, is a challenge to law enforcement agencies trying to identify illicit shipments in the supply chain. Most containers are uninspected, allowing contraband to enter countries undetected.

The process of securing containers is therefore continuous. Implementing security as part of the continuous delivery life cycle means a business will mitigate risk and reduce vulnerabilities across an ever-growing attack surface.

It is against this backdrop that Global Trade Solution and Transport Forum are jointly hosting the SIG on: -Container Security and its role in eliminating disruptions in global trade
